It's Time to FART! (Let'er Rip!)

Surely everybody has moments in time where thoughts pop into mind.  Sometimes they are logical and other times they make absolutely no sense.  Sometimes they run on anger and other times I'm just punchy from lack of sleep.  Regardless, just as flatulation is healthy, so too is venting.  From time to time, I'm sure I'll fart/vent and I'll just refer to those times as FART - Funky And Random Thought .  If in the future I forget this acronym, I reserve the right to update its meaning.

My very first FART!  As long as I'm here...Today (Friday, Feb. 26, 2010) Hawaii Congressman Neil Abercrombie officially ended his tenure in the House of Representatives so he can concentrate on his bid to become Hawaii's next governor.  When he first announced his run for governor, it sounded like a solid plan.  Later he announced he would vacate his congressional seat so he could focus on his gubernatorial bid.  STOP!  While previously I kinda liked the idea of Abercrombie as governor, that quickly changed to disappointment.  Hawaii has lost one-fourth of our representation and will continue to see that puka on Capitol Hill until a special election fills the seat.  That special election is going to cost the state money that we are obviously in short supply.  So now, not only has he walked off a job right in the middle, he also ripped another hole in the state's wallet.  Doesn't sound like a great start to me and I'm not sure I can afford to help elect him.

FART #2:  There has been a lot of buzz of whether or not Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hanneman will seek the governorship.  Mufi has said numerous times that he still has not decided. Deja vu?  Remember when then Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris kept everyone guessing if he would seek the state's #1 job.  He finally decided nay.  (He then went forward using his position as Mayor with plans that seemed more retalitorial then beneficial - Kuhio Avenue, BRT, his book paid for by C&C Honolulu.)  I don't think Mayor Mufi is uncertain of IF he will run, but rather WHEN he will announce his intention.  He is very compassionate about his convictions, which sometimes seems to come off as fueled by anger.  Whenever that compassionate conviction comes out, I tend to feel as if, like it or not, this is going to happen.  One such conviction is the rail project.  Is rail really right?  Okay, I'll leave that for another time.

Anyway, just a couple of FARTS I needed to vent (if you don't understand that, read paragraph one).
